Twins Update

I got to talk to Kimi last night and she had great news about the boys - Kimi got to feed T, which is an unexpected blessing, and S is beginning to digest his food - something we've been praying he would do soon. They still have a long road to travel, so please remember to keep them in your prayers!

Precious Friends

I want to ask you to pray for our friends. Rob is the student minister at our church, and R and I have become friends with him and his sweet wife, Kimi. They have a 16 month old son, L, and Kimi delivered two precious boys last Friday, S and T. They were born at 30 weeks, and are currently in the NICU. Please pray for the boys' health and strength as well as Kimi and Rob's peace and patience in the days to come. I'll post any major updates as I hear them.

Pumpkin Patch

On Saturday we made our first trip to the Pumpkin Patch! We visited Hall's Pumpkin Farm in Grapevine, which was super cute and free (R's favorite part of the whole experience). Tink wasn't at all as excited as we were (my Granny reminded me that I wasn't too fond of being outside and getting dirty as a kid, so at least we know where she gets it!) We had to laugh at all of the other parents trying to pose their babies and get pictures - there were lots of silly voices, waving hands, and crying kids dressed in fall clothing in 80 degree weather! :) Next time, we'll definitely take our video camera to capture the whole affair! We did manage to get just a few good ones, so here they are - happy fall!
I'm not so sure about this. . .
Can I eat it?
Doesn't taste very good!
This one is more my size!
Still doesn't taste good, though :)
Pumpkins, pumpkins, everywhere!

Our First Photo Session

For those of you who haven't heard, we had a pretty frustrating photo session a few weeks ago - Tinkerbell was super distracted by being outside and was not into taking pictures at ALL! R and I wore ourselves out jumping, singing, and swinging toys around in an attempt get her attention (with very little success). We left very frustrated, hoping that the photographer was able to get at least a few good shots. Melissa did an AMAZING job (despite Tink's lack of participation) and we highly recommend her to anyone in the area who is looking for a photographer. After a LONG and anxious wait, the proofs are available online - If you would like to view them, follow the link below and enter our last name as the access code. Of course, we're having a hard time choosing a favorite, so let us know what you think.
*Note to self - always take pictures of little ones in an environment they're familiar with :)

Half Way to One Year

I can hardly believe that we're already half way through Tinkerbell's first year! When people tell you that your child's life flies by, they are NOT kidding! We had her six month checkup today, including two regular shots and the flu shot (resulting in a very fussy afternoon - boo for shots). She weighs 15 pounds and is 25 1/2 inches long - right on track, but she's not what you would consider a big girl :) What she lacks in size she makes up for in personality! She started talking constantly, which I love - it's nice to hear a response after feeling like you're talking to yourself for six months! She is sitting alone like a champ, and is really starting to explore on her own. She grabs everything within reach, and immediately puts it in her mouth. These things have recently included my grocery list, both R's and my nose, her own toes, and, unfortunately, Scruffy's tail (don't worry, he escaped before she reached her mouth). She is just starting to push up onto her knees and try to scoot around on the floor, which is hilarious. She can only go backward so far, but it's a start :) Her new favorite playing position is laying sideways, propped up on one elbow (also funny to watch). She's eating two meals of solid food a day, and loves sweet potatoes, butternut squash, applesauce, bananas, and pears (I'm keeping my fingers crossed for a kid who isn't picky!) Here are her six month pictures - I have a few more that I'll post soon, but they deserve their own post :)

Picture Jitters

So, we're having professional pics taken on Saturday in downtown Grapevine. I am normally very excited about photography sessions - we had a great time doing this in the past. However, throw in a very cute but unpredictable six month old, and I'm a wreck! The worst part for me is always deciding what to wear, which, I have now transferred to my child (while completely ignoring the fact that I haven't a clue what I will wear). I have spent the entire week trying to decide, including two shopping trips and several calls to get my husband's opinion, (which I'm sure is appreciated while on a business trip). Tink doesn't care what she wears and I'm sure in five years I won't care what she was wearing. Nonetheless, it's completely sending me over the edge. I'm also nervous about the time of day - 4:30pm. I'm sure this, too, will be fine, but babies are always in such a great mood early in the day, and I just had it in my head that we would be taking pictures in the morning! Yes, I have officially morphed into "OCD Mom". I am posting some pictures I've taken myself to remind me that she will be adorable no matter what she's wearing or the time of day. In the mean time, if you've had a photo session with a baby lately and have some helpful tips or words of encouragement (or feel the need to confirm my obvious overreaction), by all means, help a crazy girl out :)
